How long does it take to implement OKRs?

We typically work with our clients between 2 and 4 OKR cycles - a cycle is typically a quarter. In this period, we will conduct an OKR workshop, train team OKR, reflect on learnings and failures, and facilitate internal OKR champions on your side. At the end of the workshop, as soon as you feel confident to run independently, we provide an OKR review and check-in to ensure you are on the right track for your next OKR cycle.

Step 1

SETTING UP DEPLOYMENT PARAMETERS - the starting point is an OKR planning workshop and brainstorming session with the leadership team to define individual needs and rules. Further, we ensure that the connection between vision and strategic planning is solid and will make some adjustments if needed. The OKR workshop is a collaborative process.

Step 2

SAME KNOWHOW-LEVEL ON TOP MANAGEMENT LEVEL  - executive training is being conducted with the extended Management Circle. In line with our OKR methodology, we ensure all preparations for the OKR creation process are being started. Your team's OKR Champ will run through a special certification program.  

Step 3

LEARNING BY DOING - conduct your first good OKR creation and alignment workshop with an extended management circle. We will be your coach and sparring partner.

In parallel, the rest of your organization is being trained effectively through individual online training and coaching checkpoints, with the guidance of skilled facilitators.



Step 4

COACHING ON QUALITY AND ALIGNMENT - reviewing and finalizing derived OKR sets and ensuring we captured alignment needs and have a good quality in OKR formulations.


Step 5

INTERNAL OKR-CHAMPION WORKSHOP - your internal OKR champions will be briefed and certified specifically, as you need to internalize OKRs as fast as possible. We will sit down and facilitate an OKR action plan as a team.


Step 6

REFRESH, CHECK, REVIEW AND PREPARE - during the next quarter, we will offer a series of checkpoints to refresh our know-how and answer questions. We will review your first OKR cycle and support you in preparing your second cycle.

 


Are these on-site OKR Workshops or remote sessions?

We can do both, and we did both versions many times. Usually, we run basic training online with e-learning and templates ( faster, cheaper, and scalable) and add personal coaching and Q&As afterward. Further, we usually start on-site workshops on the C-Level or Management Level.  As you get into a routine with team-lead OKRs over time, things become more remote. But most importantly, the approach for a successful workshop should fit how you operate - we are happy to adapt.

 

What are the costs to implement OKRs?

Depending on company size and location, the full process takes, on average, between 5 and 15 days, spread across 6-12 months. We aim to minimize time invested for C-Levels and Management, knowing their importance during the roll-out of OKRs. We work pragmatically and hands-on and use blended learning techniques. This is why the total investment per employee is minimal. We do not have a "one-size-fits-all" package, but we customize an individual OKR workshop agenda using a roll-out approach based on your needs.
